About Experience
About Alexandros Drosos TenClub welcomes you on Saturday the 23rd of September in the unique atmosphere of the Mayer Manor in Amsterdam. Enjoy a profound rendition of Simeon ten Holt’s Canto Ostinato on our Érard grand piano by star pianist Alexandros Drosos. Drosos has frequently appeared as a soloist and composer in Greece, Germany, France and the UK (Piano Salon Christophori, Coselpalais Dresden, Southwark Cathedral, Greenwich String Quartet Festival, National Conservatory of Athens, Thessaloniki Concert Hall) and has received the Darryl Runswick Prize (2009) and the John Halford Prize (2011), both in praise of his own compositions. Drosos has a very special relationship with Canto Ostinato. He played the piece as part of his piano debut at the Athens Concert Hall and in 2016, he arranged the same piece for 72 toy instruments, under the name ‘Baby Ostinato’. About Canto Ostinato Canto Ostinato is the most well-known work by Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt, who completed it in 1976. This incredible work of minimal music is characterised by a certain level of repetitiveness. Canto Ostinato is therefore often thought to have meditative qualities, as the different sections are similar, but generate various emotional reactions. Tickets are available now. Tickets: Early Bird € 27,50. Regular € 35,00. Our Curious members receive a 50% discount on all public events and free access to members-only nights.
